Sunday GA shift

Hello all!

I am working GA shift today, Sunday, March 14.

When I got in the first thing I did was check the Missourian’s home page and the 0700 report.

On the 0700 Report, I found two arrests for the abandonment of a corpse, so I worked with Will, the ACE, on that story. We checked CaseNet, but it wasn’t on there yet. That did lead me to find some interesting info though, which I was able to add to the story. We’ll want to keep an eye on this as it progresses. Will helped me write the lede; that is where I have been struggling the most. I ended up writing a short brief.

I also worked on setting up interviews with secondary sources for the candidate profile I am working on. So far, I have interviewed my candidate in-depth-ly and I have set up interviews with three secondary sources, but I need some non-family members.

Lastly, I did some background data research for the parking ticket decrease story that Scott assigned me. In this research, I found an article we had already done that seemed to cover most of my questions on the topic and even featured a great graphic. So, I am not sure exactly what I need to be writing about for MY story since I don’t just want to report the same things. I am still down to do like a life-in-the-day type story on a cop who has to write tickets, or the one employee who wrote tickets before and now does so as a community aide. But I am not sure what else.

I also looked for some story ideas for next week.
